Born in Seattle, Washington, Susan Marinello graduated from The New York School of Interior Design and worked in New York City before establishing her own design firm. For twenty-five years, SMI’s principles have remained steadfast – to honor quality over convenience, to design with integrity, and above all, to put the client first
From Susan Marinello Interiors office in Seattle, the firm supports projects all over the US and internationally as well. Many projects have been featured in trade publications such as Gray Magazine, Luxe Magazine, Traditional Home, Hospitality Design, and Interior Design Magazine.

Born in Seattle, Washington, Susan Marinello graduated from The New York School of Interior Design and worked in New York City before establishing her own design firm. For over two decades Susan has incorporated her signature fusion of classical and modern styles into an impressive array of upscale residential and commercial interiors. Celebrated for her ability to transform living environments into elegantly edited spaces, Susan is considered a top talent in the design industry.
Susan has been featured in numerous publications such as Luxe Magazine, Traditional Home, Hospitality Design, and Seattle Homes and Lifestyle. She is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and is NCIDQ certified.
A traditionalist at heart, she always seeks a modern approach. Susan’s favorite moments are sitting around a table making memories with family and friends.
